We search for these keywords in the name, account handle and description of the Twitter account. The filters are:

All Keywords

Targets accounts that contain all the provided keywords. If any keyword is missing, then that account won't be unfollowed.

Any Keyword

Targets accounts that contain at least one of the provided keywords.

Use Cases

When to Use Mass Unfollow

Personal Brand Cleanup

Over time, it's natural to accumulate a cluttered follow list—accounts from old interests, one-off interactions, or previous social strategies. But when you're building a personal brand, your Twitter presence should reflect focus and intention.

Our mass unfollow app helps you remove noise, align with your current identity, and signal professionalism to anyone checking your profile. A cleaner followers list also improves the quality of your timeline, making your daily Twitter experience more relevant and productive.

Content Strategy Reset

When your niche or content direction shifts, your follow list can become a mismatch—full of voices and topics that no longer serve your goals. Whether you've moved from tech to wellness, finance to lifestyle, or tutorials to storytelling, using the keyword-based unfollow feature helps you refine who you follow to better match your new focus.

This helps you get rid of inactive twitter users who are not interested in your new content.

Post-Campaign Cleanups

If you've used mass follow strategies during giveaways, collaborations, or growth sprints, it's common to end up with a list of inactive users who never followed back or engaged. Instead of sifting through them manually, use keywords from the campaign or promotional theme to unfollow them in bulk.

This improves declutters your feed, removes inactive accounts and ensures your focus remains on those who genuinely care about your content and message.

Competitor or Trend Research Reset

It's smart to temporarily follow competitors, industry leaders, or trendsetters when you're researching a market or new topic. But once that phase ends, keeping them clutters your feed and shifts your focus. With the Twitter Mass Unfollow tool, you can easily clean up by unfollowing accounts that contain specific trend or brand-related keywords—saving time while letting you move cleanly into your next research focus or content push.

Avoid Spammy Accounts

Spammy profiles can sneak into your followers during rapid growth phases. They often promote shady tools, fake offers, or low-effort engagement tricks using keywords like “DM for collab,” “buy followers,” or “crypto pump.”

Mass unfollow twitter accounts that are fake or spammy using our keyword-matching feature, and clean up your twitter followers list in seconds—improving feed quality, avoiding potential embarrassment, and making your profile look more authentic to future collaborators or sponsors.

Best Practices

Follow these best practices to gain maximum benefit out of our Twitter mass unfollow app.

Limit Number of Unfollows

Too many unfollows in a short period can raise red flags and make your profile appear spammy to Twitter's algorithm. To stay safe, use our "maximum accounts to unfollow" setting to control the number of unfollows per session. A gradual approach not only reduces the risk of temporary restrictions or suspensions but also mimics natural human behavior.

Aim for consistency over speed—this helps maintain a healthy reputation while steadily cleaning up your followers list.

Choose Keywords Strategically

Use precise keywords that reflect the types of accounts you want to remove—such as outdated topics, irrelevant niches, old follow campaigns or inactive accounts. For example, if you previously followed crypto accounts but have since shifted focus, use terms like “crypto,” “NFT,” or “web3” to filter and unfollow those twitter users.

Avoid overly broad keywords that might catch valuable twitter profiles in the net. The more specific your keyword list, the smarter your cleanup.

Regularly Audit Follows by Keyword

Use keyword-based unfollowing as part of your ongoing Twitter hygiene. Every few weeks, run searches using new sets of keywords—especially after campaigns, niche pivots, or changes in your content focus.

This ensures that your followers list stays aligned with your current goals and keeps your feed clean and relevant.
